How to Deal With Hard Drive and Monitor Problems

Your computer hard drive is ultimately essential in keeping all of your files, folders, programs, and information.

If your hard drive is defective, it can be a huge problem.

Usually, storage drives become faulty after long years of computer usage. Having a faulty drive may render your PC somehow useless.
If you're planning to replace the drive, it might be better to purchase a new pc or build your own set, if you know how.
Some of the common signs of an ailing hard drive are: unusually very slow file transfers; boot up trouble; corrupted or damaged files; missing folders; and very noisy hard drive.

If the noise gets much louder than usual, your hard drive might be hinting that there's something wrong with it. If you've noticed any of these signs, the first important thing to do is to copy all important files to a different source as soon as possible to avoid loss of data. Discontinue using your normal activities with the hard drive. However, if you cannot notice any of these signs but you still want to find out if there's really something wrong with the drive, you can use a tool to test it.

Visit the manufacturer's site and download a tool which can help you test it. Once you find out that your hard drive is faulty, stop using it immediately.

Your options now include replacing the drive or just buying a new computer set. If you're dealing with a faulty monitor that won't turn on, there are some good ways you can do to fix the problem. Screen troubles often have minor causes such as loose cables or unplugged monitor, although if your monitor is quite old already, the problem may be related to the graphics card. You have to know first the main reason why your monitor won't display anything.
Check the cables.

It's almost something very basic that one should do in most cases of PC problems.
Also check if the monitor has enough power and if it's not getting a signal from your computer.
Replace the monitor with another one to see whether the problem is just the monitor or if it's the graphics card.
If the graphics card is the problem, you'll have to see if it's seated properly in the motherboard.
If it is, then you may have to replace it with a new card.

If your monitor needs to be replaced, it's better not to try tinkering inside it.
Avoid opening it because it's quite dangerous.
Just purchase a new one.
